How It Works

From Inquiry to Delivery — Our Process

We have refined a six-step process that moves fast, stays transparent, and delivers exactly what was quoted. No surprises, no substitutions without notice.

01

Submit Your Inquiry

Contact us by email or through our online quote form. Tell us what you need — whether you're buying, selling, or recycling — along with quantity, grade preference, and any compliance requirements. We respond within one business day, often same-day.

02

Receive a Detailed Quote

We send a written quote with per-unit pricing, available grades, condition descriptions, and delivery timeline. No vague estimates — each line item is specific. Volume pricing is automatically applied based on your order size.

03

Confirm & Schedule

Once you approve the quote, we schedule delivery or pickup at your convenience. Our logistics team coordinates routing across our Midwest fleet, often allowing next-day or two-day delivery windows for in-stock items.

04

Inspection & Preparation

Before shipping, every tote is re-inspected against your order specifications. Pressure-tested, cleaned to grade, labeling removed or updated, and valve function verified. A condition report is prepared for each unit.

05

Delivery or Pickup

Our fleet delivers direct to your facility dock or we arrange flatbed freight for larger orders. For buy-back customers, we dispatch a driver to pick up your empty totes — you don't move a thing. GPS-tracked, on-time delivery.

06

Ongoing Partnership

We don't disappear after the first order. Repeat customers receive priority access to new inventory, proactive notifications when their preferred grades arrive, and volume-based pricing that improves over time. We build supply chain relationships, not just transactions.

Average order cycle time: 1-3 business days from quote approval to delivery for in-stock Midwest orders. Large volume or custom-specification orders are quoted with specific lead times. Email info@kansasibcycling.com to start the process.

Compliance & Quality

Certifications & Standards

Industrial container compliance is serious business. We maintain the documentation, processes, and standards your procurement and safety teams need to approve our products without friction.

UN/DOT

UN/DOT Packing Group Compliance

Our reconditioned IBC totes meet United Nations and U.S. Department of Transportation standards for Packing Groups II and III. Certification markings and test records are maintained for each certified container, supporting regulatory compliance for hazardous and non-hazardous liquid transport.

FDA

FDA-Compliant Cleaning Processes

Our food-grade reconditioning line uses cleaning agents and procedures that comply with FDA 21 CFR requirements for food contact surfaces. Temperature, chemical concentration, and rinse cycles are documented for every food-grade batch, creating an auditable trail for food safety teams.

EPA

EPA-Aligned Waste Management

Our zero-landfill processing model is designed to meet and exceed EPA solid waste management guidelines. Chemical wash water is treated before discharge in compliance with local wastewater authority requirements. We maintain MSDS documentation for all facility chemicals.

ISO

ISO 14001 Pursuit

We are actively working toward ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification as part of our 2025-2026 sustainability roadmap. Our internal environmental tracking, incident protocols, and continuous improvement processes are already structured around ISO 14001 principles.

Documentation requests: If you require specific compliance documentation before placing an order — such as cleaning certification letters, UN/DOT certification records, prior-use statements, or safety data sheets for cleaning agents — email us at info@kansasibcycling.com before ordering and we will confirm what we can provide.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often from new customers. Don't see yours? Email info@kansasibcycling.com.

What sizes of IBC totes do you carry?+
We stock 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBC totes as our primary sizes, which cover the vast majority of industrial applications. We also occasionally carry 275-gallon units with composite (plastic) pallets vs. wooden pallets — specify your preference when requesting a quote. Custom configurations can be sourced on request.
What is the difference between used, reconditioned, and new IBC totes?+
Used totes have been cleaned and inspected but are sold as-is for industrial applications where new-equivalent condition is not required. Reconditioned totes have gone through our full 12-point reconditioning process — pressure washing, valve replacement if needed, pressure testing, and certification — and are suitable for food-grade or regulated applications. New totes are virgin units from the manufacturer, recommended only when your application specifically requires it.
Do you buy IBC totes we no longer need?+
Yes — our buy-back program is one of our core services. We purchase empty IBC totes in any condition: intact and clean, damaged, or contaminated. We dispatch a driver to your facility for pickup (no minimum quantity for Kansas City metro; minimums apply for longer-distance pickups). You receive a cash payment or account credit within standard payment terms.
How far do you deliver?+
Our primary service area covers a 500-mile radius from our Kansas City facility at 965 N Walrond Ave — including Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Oklahoma, and parts of surrounding states. For larger orders or established accounts, we can arrange freight shipping nationwide through our carrier network.
Can I get documentation for food-grade or hazmat compliance?+
Yes. Food-grade reconditioned totes ship with a cleaning certification letter documenting the process, cleaning agents used, and the prior content category (food or non-food). UN/DOT certified containers include the relevant certification markings and, on request, test pedigree documentation. Contact us before ordering if you have specific compliance documentation requirements.
How quickly can I receive an order?+
For in-stock items in the Kansas City metro area, same-day or next-day delivery is often available. Regional Midwest delivery typically runs 1-3 business days. For large volume orders, we coordinate a delivery schedule at quote time. Email info@kansasibcycling.com to check current stock and lead times for your location.
